Professor Arik Senderovich is an Associate Professor in the School of Information Technology at York University. He also holds a status-only appointment at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, where he supervises student projects and teaches colloquia.
Arik is the CTO and Co-Founder of SiMLQ Inc., a Toronto-based company developing next-generation digital twins for complex service systems.
Before joining York University, Arik held Assistant Professor positions at both the Rotman School of Management and the Faculty of Information at the University of Toronto. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the Toronto Intelligent Decision Engineering Laboratory at the University of Toronto.
Arik holds a PhD in Data Science, an MSc in Statistics, and a BSc in Industrial Engineering and Management, all from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. In 2017, he received the Lyon Sachs Scholarship, awarded annually to one outstanding PhD graduate.

His work focuses on developing data-driven methodologies for automatically learning models of dynamic environments, such as hospitals, emergency departments, and public transportation systems, from event logs and operational data.
A central goal of his research is to turn raw process data into actionable models that support analysis, prediction, simulation, and decision-making in real-world systems.
His work has been recognized by the international Business Process Management community, including the inaugural Best Dissertation Award and Best Paper Award at the 15th International Conference on Business Process Management in Barcelona.
